Various names appear in the film’s credits, such as the cinematographer Sandor Krasna, the composer Michel Krasna, and the Japanese artist Hayao Yamaneko. In reality, none of these individuals ever existed. As Marker himself revealed years later in a letter to Theresa* , these were all his own alter egos, invented to avoid using his own name and to add a veil of mystery and poetic deception to the film.
