Paul Klee, Pink Spring in deep Winter

“Between our two lives
there is also the life of
the cherry blossom.”

.

“Come, see the true
flowers
of this pained world.”

.

“If I had the knack
I’d sing like
Cherry flakes falling”

.

“The temple bell stops
But the sound keeps coming
out of the flowers”

.

“Cherry blossoms
– lights of years past.”

.

“Moonlit plum tree-
wait,
spring will come.”

.

“Don’t touch my plumtree!
Said my friend and saying so…
Broke the branch for me”

.

“Describe plum-blossoms?
Better than my verses…white
Wordless Butterflies”

.
