Robert Capa met Hemingway during the Spanish Civil War (which was Capa’s first war assignment) and immediately, as he said later, ‘adopted Hemingway as a father‘. Hemingway enjoyed the role of mentor and they became good friends. This photographs taken in Sun Valley, in 1940, when the two went on a hunting trip together.
